There comes a time in one’s life when you get a phone call and are asked if you are willing to do some charity work. Of course you say yes I can……what can I do to help?

The dinner dance theme was SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER (music from the seventies and eighties.) My job was to think of a name for the hall turned “Night Club” for the event and “decorate the Night Club.”

I appropriately named the Night Club CLUB BEAT IT and then called in every favor I could conjure up and the Marquee was born. Then came the color theme or lack there of and the center pieces, all black and white. The centerpieces incorporated a small light that gave the table the ambience of candles.

The color came from the people themselves, some in seventies outfits. The crowd of three hundred was treated to performance by a group of wonderful teenagers that did a dance routine to Michael Jackson’s song, Beat It. What a wonderful group of young people giving so freely of their time and talent.

I was so proud to have been part of such a worthy cause. Please enjoy the pictures and maybe you will join us next year!
